Q: Can you pick me up at my hotel in Paris?
A: It takes at least 2½ hours to drive from Paris to Tours by motorway in a vintage car. The same trip by train takes 1 hour, which allows you a lot more time in the Loire Valley. We can't book your rail tickets for you, but we can give you advice on how to make the process easy. If you book early enough, the tickets can cost less than €20 per person each way.
Q: I would like to see somewhere not shown on your sample tours. Is that possible?
A: Call us and we will plan a tour around what you want to see and do.
Q: Why do other one and two day tours visit more Châteaux than shown on your sample tours?
A: We know you might not have a huge amount of time, but we believe you will enjoy a visit to a château more when you can see it without having to rush, and a journey between chateaux where you can stop and enjoy the views.
Q: I have special dietary requirements. Is this a problem?
A: Restaurants nowadays are aware of allergies and can cater for them. If you have food requirements contact us and we can arrange a special menu for you at one of our regular restaurants.
Q: I have never heard of the hotels and restaurants you use. Are they OK?
A: We like to use small, non-chain hotels and restaurants, the kind French people might use when they are on holiday. All of the restaurants we use come highly recommended.
Q: Is the car airconditioned?
A: No, it's an authentic classic French car. It rarely gets hot enough to make airconditioning aboslutely essential, and the routes we take are often along roads cooled by forests. Likewise, the car doesn't have seatbelts; being the first of the widely available cars of monocoque construction, it is difficult to fit seatbelts without compromising the structural integrity of the car.
Q: I like to get off the standard tourist routes, can you do this?
A: You sound like our kind of travellers - looking for something different in addition to the iconic places. On most tours we will leave time to show you something unexpected.
Q: How much will my tour cost?
A: The cost for each tour will vary, depending on the château visited and the distance travelled. When we reply to your initial enquiry we will provide you with options for two or three tours, based on what you tell us you would like to see. This will be accompanied by a firm price for each option.
