Last Minute Lucky Dip
If you have booked a holiday in the area shown on the map ask about our last minute lucky dip tours. Contact us within five days of your desired tour date and we will organise a half day in the country visiting a château at the bargain price of €120 for a maximum of three people (depending on our availability). We will collect you at your accommodation, transport you to a château of our choice for a 90 minute visit, then return to your accommodation via a bar, cafe or winery. Price does not include entry to the château, but we have arranged discounted entry to some of the châteaux we visit.
Of course, being a last minute tour it may mean that your first choice date is unavailable, but we will have days available during most weeks as long as your timetable is flexible.
Nature Tours
The Loire Valley is home to an unusual concentration of flora and fauna because of its central position in western Europe. As a trained field taxonomist and biodiversity surveyor with excellent local contacts Susan regularly monitors butterflies (95+ species), dragonflies (40+ species), orchids (45+ species) and other flora and fauna in the area, and conducts popular outings in the Claise river catchment. These are "follow my leader" tours where you use your own car to follow her to two sites. Once there she will identify the species found. These two hour tours are bargain priced at €50 (minimum 2 people, maximum 6 per tour). The most popular of these tours is the orchid tour, particularly during May and June. At these times you can fairly reliably expect to see 10+ orchid species in a day.
